Employee Spotlight – Hannah Taylor, Shanghai

Kicking off our Spotlight Series of ENREACH Employees is Hannah Taylor in Shanghai.  Lets get to know her a bit more!

When did you come to China?

I arrived in China on June 24th 2017.

What did you do before you started with ENREACH?

Before I moved to China I was living in Chicago nannying for a family, working at four different LA Fitness Chicago locations, and working on shows in the Chicago theater scene when I had the time.

What is your role with ENREACH and where do you live?

I wear many hats here at Shanghai ENREACH. I am a Drama and Public Speaking teacher but I am also the Drama Coordinator so I help train any new teachers who come on board with ENREACH and help them with any task they may need. I also work closely with our Curriculum team to create teaching practicum for our new Junior Public Speaking courses.

What advice do you have for new employees and those new to China?

If you are new to China make an effort to learn at least some of the language, a little Chinese will get you a long way. Also try to make friends outside of work and don’t always stick to the same familiar places.

What is your favorite food you’ve discovered so far?

I love Xiao Long Bao (pork soup dumplings) that Shanghai is famous for and Jianbing (a savory crepe) that is a common breakfast food in China but I like to eat it at all times of the day.

Where are you going on your next vacation?

My next vacation I am actually headed back to Illinois for Chinese New Year to spend some time with my family but after that hopefully some place warm.
